Founder of the East Legon Football Academy (ELFA), Winston Yeboah Danso, has made history by becoming the first Ghanaian to win a Stevie Award at the International Business Awards (IBAs).
He was honoured with the Bronze Stevie for Thought Leader of the Year – Government or Non-Profit.
Since establishing the East Legon Football Academy in 2019 with a mission to merge football development with social impact, Yeboah Danso has led the academy to three appearances at Denmark’s Dana Cup, winning two trophies.
Beyond the pitch, he has supported players facing financial and personal challenges, ensuring that talent is nurtured regardless of background.

“This award is not just for me, but for every young Ghanaian who dares to dream. I dedicate it to all who have supported and believed in my vision, my coaching staff, and the players of ELFA,” Yeboah Danso said after receiving the recognition.
A review of the Stevie Awards’ official database confirmed that no Ghanaian had previously won in any category, making Yeboah Danso’s triumph a groundbreaking milestone.
“Through football and business, I want to transform lives. When I see a talented young person struggling, I feel compelled to step in and make a difference,” he added.
Winston Yeboah Danso, who is also a serial entrepreneur, is positioning ELFA as a hub for developing world-class football talent while driving youth empowerment in Ghana.
He praised the Stevie Awards organisers for recognising his work and reaffirmed his commitment to raising Ghana’s flag high on the global stage.
Winners of the 2025 International Business Awards will be celebrated at a gala banquet at the Corinthia Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal, on Friday, October 10, 2025.
