Syrian-born Saudi super featherweight, Sultan Al Mohammed, tore into Indian Umesh Chavan’s body fast and hard, prompting Chavan raise his left hand and turn his back in surrender. Referee Ed Collantes waved matters off at 2:05 of the opening session. Al Mohammed improves to 2-0, 1 KO. Chavan falls to 3 -1-1.
Opening the show in Riyadh, 16-year-old Juan Perez “El Guerito de Tepito” made his pro debut as well as became the youngest fighter ever to fight outside of North America, against Uganda’s Barker Sseyanwana in a bantamweight 4-rounder.
The stellar amateur standout Perez, had to work for four rounds but dominated with scores of 40-35 across the board, starting out his career at 1-0. Sseyanwana dips below .500 at 1-2-1.
