The Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education across the country.

Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, he stated that the government remains dedicated to expanding access to education at all levels.

“I want to thank the President for giving us the state of STEM schools. We will build more and each region will get a STEM school. We remain committed to expanding access to quality education from primary to secondary levels. All the abandoned GETFund projects in your various constituencies will receive substantial investments to ensure their completion,” he said.

The minister also announced that all public universities in the country will receive support to sponsor PhD students.

“This year, every public university will receive GETFund support to assist five PhD students under a new Local Scholarship Secretariat initiative. This will allow each public university to train Ghanaians under a local scholarship program,” he added.
