e-Crime Bureau has been honoured with prestigious cybersecurity awards at the 14th Digital Innovation Awards (DIA) 2025, formerly known as the Ghana Information Technology & Telecommunications Awards (GITTA).
The DIA Awards remain Ghana’s leading platform that recognises the hard work, dedication, and impact of business leaders and institutions in the IT and telecommunications industry. The awards aim to spur innovation, reward high-performing institutions, and motivate professionals leading outstanding brands and initiatives.
At the event, e-Crime Bureau was named Cybersecurity Company of the Year and also won the Award for Excellence in Cybersecurity Training & Capacity Building.
The ceremony took place on June 27, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel and was graced by top government officials, diplomats, international partners, leading Ghanaian and international brands, and IT professionals.
In his welcome address, Mr. Akin Naphtal, CEO of Instinct Wave, noted that 2025 marks a new chapter as the DIA evolves into a Pan-African platform celebrating excellence in digital transformation across sectors including government, telecommunications, fintech, banking, health, agriculture, education, and more.
The 2025 edition introduced expanded award categories that highlight the leaders and innovators driving the continent’s digital future. These categories recognise outstanding efforts in deploying technology to transform operations, promote security, accelerate innovation, and improve lives across Africa.
The event was graced by H.E. Roey Gilad, Ambassador of the Republic of Israel to Ghana, as the Guest of Honour. In his address, he highlighted Israel’s investments that have led to remarkable progress by fostering partnerships with global brands like Google and Microsoft, which have established Research and Development (R&D) centres in Israel.
He further noted that Ghana is currently at a stage similar to where Israel was years ago, with promising prospects. He commended the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology & Innovation for initiatives like the One Million Coders Programme, which aims to develop skilled human capital in Ghana’s technology sector.
The 24/7 Economy initiative, he added, will spur creativity and growth, especially if strengthened through partnerships and a focus on emerging areas such as digital innovation, cybersecurity, and fintech.
