Dreams FC has strongly refuted Accra Lions’ allegations that the 2023 FA Cup champions benefited from biased officiating during their matchday 16 encounter in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday, January 5, 2025.

Dreams FC, in a statement issued on January 7, categorically denied any involvement in influencing officiating decisions or furthering personal interests.

They urged all stakeholders in Ghana football to reject such claims and remain vigilant against manipulative tactics.

Dreams FC further accused Accra Lions of benefiting from questionable refereeing decisions earlier in the season.

They cited an example from Accra Lions’ match against Hearts of Oak, suggesting that clubs often experience both favourable and unfavourable decisions from match officials.

The game, held at the Tuba AstroTurf, saw Dreams FC secure a 1-0 victory as they continued their fight to avoid relegation.

Accra Lions’ text commentary on their official Facebook page sparked controversy, as the club alleged, they faced unfair decisions from match officials.

The allegations drew the attention of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), which subsequently charged Accra Lions with misconduct. Despite this, Accra Lions released an official statement on Monday, January 6, 2025, demanding reforms in Ghana football.
