Only two Ghanaian clubs, Dreams FC and Medeama SC, appear in the latest CAF Club Rankings as of June 2025. Dreams are ranked 26th with 12 points, while Medeama occupy the 51st position with 4 points.

Their inclusion comes on the back of impressive outings in recent CAF interclub competitions. Notably, Dreams FC reached the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup in their debut season, making a strong statement on the continental stage.

However, Ghana’s traditional powerhouses, Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, are conspicuously missing from the top 57.

Despite their historic pedigree, Kotoko, being two-time Champions League winners and Hearts of Oak, having won both the Champions League and Confederation Cup, neither side has reached the group stages of any CAF competition in the past five years, highlighting their sharp decline on the continental front.

At the top of the CAF rankings, Al Ahly leads with 78 points, followed by Mamelodi Sundowns (62) and Esperance de Tunis (57). Pyramids FC, crowned African champions for the first time this season, sit sixth, while Confederation Cup winners RS Berkane are fourth.
