A man has been shot dead on a quiet street in Sydney‘s west, with police arresting two people after pursuing them through the area.
The shooting occurred around 12pm on Carinya Street, Blacktown, on Friday when a man died at the scene after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
Two people were then arrested on Kildare Road following a short pursuit by NSW Police.
There is a large emergency services presence in the area and officers have established a perimeter.
NSW Police said there is no threat to the public however, the community is urged to avoid the area.
