The boy was seen smashing the phone

What was meant to be a normal Black Stars match at the Accra Sports Stadium turned chaotic on Sunday, October 12, 2025, when a young man confronted his girlfriend after spotting her with another man.

Eyewitnesses say the man, who had invited his girlfriend to the same match, was left in disbelief when he saw her seated beside another guy in the stands.

The reports added that the young man was hurt and angry about the situation because he invited the girlfriend to attend the game with him but she refused with the excuse that she doesn’t want to go out.

Tension quickly escalated when he walked up to her, demanded the phone he had bought for her, and smashed it in front of stunned onlookers.

Clips from the incident quickly made their way to social media, sparking heated reactions and humorous takes from users.

Many found the entire situation both dramatic and ironic, questioning how the man managed to locate her in such a crowded stadium, while others joked that “someone must have snitched.”

A few different accounts have since emerged online. One user claimed the girl actually arrived at the stadium with the same man who later confronted her, but couldn’t find a seat; other fans reportedly offered her one, leaving him standing.

When he returned later, he found her comfortably seated among the “new boys,” and that’s when tempers flared.

While some sympathised with the man’s heartbreak, others felt he went too far by destroying the phone, arguing that repossessing a gift only worsens an already embarrassing scene.

Still, a majority of comments leaned toward amusement, with users joking about “boys giving fans” and “Ghana girls’ double-dating gone wrong.”

By Monday, October 13, 2025, the incident had become one of the most talked-about moments of the Black Stars game.
