    A Nigerian lawyer has sparked reactions online after sharing a humorous post about a client who initiated divorce proceedings but still wants to spend the Christmas holidays with her husband.

    In a tweet shared on X (formerly Twitter), the lawyer revealed that after collecting a consultation fee to initiate the divorce process, the client surprisingly inquired if it would be appropriate to spend Christmas with her husband.

    “After paying consultation fee to initiate divorce proceedings, you’re asking me whether it’s okay to spend these Christmas holidays with your husband. Should I tie your legs???” he wrote.

    The post, which was laced with sarcasm, quickly gained attention on social media, with many users finding it amusing, while others debated whether emotional attachment often lingers even after a decision to end a marriage.

    Below are some of the comments;

    “This is just like the couple that filled for divorce and showed up in court wearing matching outfits, same fabric, same style, perfectly coordinated.”

    “Marital issues erh. You play small you go be third person. This one after they spend the Christmas together, dem go discuss you.”

    “I once came across a thread of divorce lawyers and their experience with couples and from what I gathered , most of them are not even ready to go through with it deep down.”

    “She might reconsider her decision after spending her holidays with her husband.”
