In a remarkable feat for Ghana’s music industry, Dr Pushkin and B-Wayne have earned global recognition as their emotionally charged music video “Empty Grave” wins Best African Music Video at the Los Angeles Movie and Music Video Awards—a key IMDb-qualifying festival known for spotlighting cinematic and musical excellence.
Released on April 14, 2024, with the official video following on December 26, Empty Grave quickly struck a chord with viewers worldwide, collecting over 650,000 YouTube views and countless reactions. The song, laced with poetic grit and spiritual undertones, speaks directly to dreamers, outcasts, and anyone who’s been written off too soon.
Crafted under the artistic eye of director Timtooni Yakubu, the visuals breathe life into a story of resistance and redemption. With metaphor-heavy scenes and deep emotional cuts, the video becomes a mirror for every soul battling through storms, surviving critics, and rising above societal graves.
“Empty Grave” isn’t just a music video—it’s a movement. A metaphor. A reminder that no matter the odds or opposition, the story isn’t over until the dreamer says it is.
Representing Ghana’s Upper East Region, both Dr Pushkin and B-Wayne are now ambassadors of African excellence, showing that art infused with authenticity and message can indeed travel beyond boundaries—and win.
