Dr. Daniel McKorley, Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group of Companies, has urged Ghanaian businesses to embrace innovation and creativity to establish themselves as global leaders in sales and entrepreneurship.

Speaking at the launch of the National Sales Leaders Conference (NSLC) 2025 in Accra, Dr. McKorley emphasized the need for businesses to adapt to an increasingly competitive environment by leveraging technology, data, and customer-centric strategies.

“Every successful business is built on the ability to understand market needs, create solutions, and consistently deliver value,” he said.

“If we are to create jobs and build strong businesses, we must equip our sales professionals with the tools, skills, and strategies to thrive in this new era.”

Dr. McKorley noted that sales had evolved beyond mere transactions to include customer engagement and long-term relationship-building.

“It is not just about selling; it is about creating value that attracts and retains customers,” he stated, adding that investing in sales innovation would not only boost profits but also generate more job opportunities for the youth.

The NSLC, scheduled for August 20–22 at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), is themed: “Redefining Sales Excellence for Today’s Dynamic Market.”

The conference aims to equip businesses, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders with the insights, strategies, and networks required to thrive in an evolving market.

Michael Abbiw, Convenor of NSLC 2025, said the event was expected to attract 2,500 attendees from diverse industries.

“Last year, we hosted 39 speakers; this year, we are bringing 52, ensuring even richer conversations and insights,” he said.

“Our focus is on creating meaningful engagements—providing opportunities for direct connections with high-value prospects, sparking collaborations, and building partnerships.”

Mr. Abbiw, also the President-Elect of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to raising standards in marketing and sales excellence.

He indicated that the conference would explore key topics, including “The Role of Ethics and Trust in Modern Sales Practices.”

“We will dissect how ethical selling is a competitive advantage. In a world where trust is hard to earn and easy to lose, businesses that lead with integrity will be the ones that stand the test of time.”

Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Chief Executive Officer of Special Group of Companies, underscored the importance of strong sales teams in business growth.

“Success in business is not about the product alone but about the networks we build, the trust we cultivate, and the strategic partnerships we form,” he said.

“For businesses to thrive in this new era, sales must be embedded at every level of the organization. Sales must be seen not as a department but as the very pulse of the company.”

Idorenyen Enang, President and Chair of the Council of the National Institute of Marketing, Nigeria, described NSLC 2025 as a significant platform to reshape sales and marketing approaches in the region.

“This is not just about learning from experts; it’s about aligning our strategies with the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead,” he noted.

The National Sales Leaders Conference has positioned itself as a leading event for thought leadership in sales and marketing.

This year’s edition is expected to drive conversations on best practices, industry trends, and the future of sales in Ghana and beyond.
