Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr George Domfeh, has issued an apology to public institutions he is associated with following the circulation of a chaotic video.
It will be recalled that two lecturers at the University of Ghana faced heavy criticism after a video of them trading insults went viral.
The video, which circulated on November 15, 2025, showed a heated altercation between a lecturer in the Political Science Department and CEO of the Ghana Shippers Authority, Professor Ransford Gyampo, and Dr Domfeh, also a senior lecturer at UG.
‘We’ve apologised to each other’ – Professor Gyampo, Dr Domfeh smoke peace pipe
In the less-than-one-minute footage, the two lecturers, who appeared on TV3’s The Key Points show, exchanged insults after their discussion turned personal.
In response, Dr Domfeh apologised to the University of Ghana and the Methodist Church, institutions with which he is associated.
He expressed deep regret, describing his actions as terrible and damaging to their image, and sought their forgiveness.
Speaking on The Key Points aired on TV3 on Saturday November 22, 2025, Dr Domfeh said he has settled his differences with Prof. Gyampo and asked the institutions to let the matter go.
“Just as he said, it was not good at all. It really affected me and was a problem, very bad. Even though it was not meant for the public, somebody got it out, so I sincerely apologise to him [Professor Gyampo]. I also apologise to the Methodist Church, who have been at the center of this. I urge the University of Ghana to forgive us. We are very sorry,” he said.
