Former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has returned to the Akwatia Constituency to campaign for the NPP Parliamentary Candidate ahead of Tuesday’s by-election.

Dr Bawumia was in the constituency on Friday August 29, 2025 for the customary one-week observation of the late NPP MP, Ernest Kumi.

Two days later, on Sunday August 31, 2025 he returned, this time to embark on grassroots campaigning in support of the NPP’s candidate, Kwame Asumadu.

He began his activities with church visits in the morning, where he warmly introduced the NPP candidate to congregants.
