Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Frank Amoakohene and Kumasi Mayor Richard Ofori paid a visit to Asante Kotoko ahead of their high-stakes game against Accra Hearts of Oak on February 15, 2026.

The officials, accompanied by other dignitaries, visited the club’s training base in Kumasi to share memorable moments with the players and motivate them. They engaged with the squad, encouraging the team to prepare well and strive for victory to make the region proud.

Meanwhile, Greater Accra Regional Minister Linda Ocloo stated that the Phobians are ready to face their arch-rivals and confirmed she will be present at the stadium to support her team.

“We’re well prepared for this match and ready for a strong performance. I’ll be representing live,” she said, as reported by Citi Sports.

This marks a notable shift in the Super Clash, as government officials are increasingly showing support for local football by attending stadiums and backing Ghana’s biggest domestic fixture.

Both Kotoko and Hearts head into the encounter nursing disappointment after early exits in the FA Cup Round of 64, a rare and frustrating chapter for Ghana’s two biggest clubs.

The Porcupine Warriors, buoyed by their passionate Kumasi supporters, will be eager to channel their frustrations into motivation as they aim to leapfrog their rivals on the league table.
