Dramatic footage has revealed the shocking moment a young family narrowly escaped death days out from Christmas.

The frightening vision recorded on a door bell camera, captured the moment an out-of-control sedan mounted the footpath and slammed into their parked Ford Territory SUV, with a three-year-old girl and her dad inside.

The alarming incident occurred outside Haylea Ball-Ferguson and partner Troy Corbett’s Werribee home in Melbourne‘s south-west as they headed off to work last Wednesday morning.

The footage showed the mum strapping her three-year-old daughter into the back seat and closing the door as her partner Mr Corbett got into the front passenger seat.

Ms Ball-Ferguson opened the driver’s door as a red Holden Cruze hurtled towards the SUV.

The sedan slammed into the passenger side of the SUV, causing it to lift up on two wheels as glass and debris shattered from the impact.

Ms Ball-Ferguson was thrown into the air and fell to the ground.

She managed to get back on her feet and remove her terrified daughter from the back seat.

‘I have seen smoke come flying out of the car, so (I’m) instantly thinking fire or explosion,’ Ms Ball-Ferguson told Nine News.

She was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Miraculously, her partner and daughter were uninjured.

‘I’m very lucky to be here,’ Mr Corbett added.

Ms-Ball Ferguson has since detailed the events leading up to their brush with death in a GoFundMe created to support the family.

‘I seen a red car speeding at us, I was screaming for the dad to get out or to get his attention to what was about to happen,’ she wrote.

‘…I ended up in hospital with a massive cut. I got stitches, I may still have to get plastic surgery if it doesn’t heal.

‘The dad didn’t go to hospital because they wouldn’t take my three-year-old in the ambulance and she wasn’t hurt. I was already on my way to the hospital.’

In a GoFundMe created to support the family, Ms-Ball Ferguson said they were saving for a new car after theirs was destroyed in the incident

Ms Ball-Ferguson and her partner are both using rideshare services to get doctor appointments while saving for a new car.

She claimed neither her family or the rogue driver had insurance.

‘Now my family of three and myself are left without a car to get to school and appointments,’ Ms Ball-Ferguson wrote.

‘We are so lucky to still be here… We had lots of plans appointments and Christmas parties we have missed out on already.’

The family also face climbing medical bills as they complete check-ups, x-rays and consider counselling for their little girl.

More than $6,000 has already been raised.

‘I’m trying to raise money to get back on our feet. Any help will be much appreciated,’ Ms-Ball Ferguson wrote.

Police believe the Holden driver suffered a medical episode while behind the wheel and and will be the subject of a licence review.

    No charges have been laid.
