Ricky Nana Agyemang, popularly known as Bullet, has firmly denied claims made by OgeeTheMC regarding the discovery and early development of the late dancehall star, Ebony Reigns.
Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz, Bullet shot down Ogee’s assertion that he discovered Ebony and worked with her for a year before introducing her to Bullet.
“That interview he gave was full of lies,” Bullet stated. “He claimed he discovered Ebony and worked with her for a year before handing her over to me. In reality, he only knew her for a week before he introduced her to me,” he stated.
Recounting the events, Bullet said he met Ogee at a club while scouting for new talent. It was there that Ogee mentioned meeting a promising young girl.
“I was searching for an artiste and met him at a club. He told me about a girl he had met who he thought had potential. The next day, she called me. She didn’t know anything about music, she had never even been to a studio,” he added.
Refuting Ogee’s claims, Bullet stated, “All that talk about working with her for a year, writing her songs, taking her to studios, and giving her a stage name, those are all lies.”
Bullet acknowledged that while Ogee did introduce Ebony to him, it is inaccurate for him to claim that he discovered her.
“When Ebony started working with me, I didn’t see him around. It was only after she blew up that he started coming around. He can say he introduced her to me, that’s fine. But claiming to have discovered her is a stretch. A lot goes into discovering and grooming an artiste,” he established.
Bullet further warned Ogee against distorting the narrative or undermining the hard work that went into building Ebony’s career.
“He can talk about Ebony in interviews, that’s not a problem. But he shouldn’t try to discredit me or the work I put in. I don’t know his motive, maybe he wants money or something,” he stated.
Bullet suggested that if Ogee truly believes he has a knack for discovering talent, he should channel that energy into nurturing new artistes instead of making unsubstantiated claims about the past.
