Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has issued a firm warning to television stations in Ghana, accusing them of illegally broadcasting her films without authorisation.

Her statement adds to the growing frustration among Nigerian filmmakers such as Ruth Kadiri and Omoni Oboli over what appears to be a recurring pattern of copyright infringement by some Ghanaian media outlets.

In a video that was shared on her Instagram page, Bimbo Ademoye expressed deep disappointment and anger at the continued use of her intellectual property without consent.

The actress disclosed that she initially sought a collaborative approach, hoping to engage in discussions with the stations involved.

However, she stated that repeated violations and lack of accountability have led her to withdraw any willingness to negotiate.

“That TV station in Ghana, I’m talking to you, don’t show my movies. I haven’t given you permission. Before, I used to say, ‘At least come to me, let’s discuss and share,’ but now, I don’t want your money. Don’t show my movies,” she stated.

There are reports alleging that Ghana’s Daily TV and at least three other television stations have broadcasted Bimbo Ademoye’s movie without obtaining the necessary rights.

The actress warned that if the illegal airing continues, she is prepared to escalate the matter to the relevant authorities.

In addition to targeting TV stations, Ademoye also condemned several YouTube channels, including Ayodeji Films, Nolly Specials, and Nollynew Series, for using her movie titles and promotional images to deceive viewers.

Bimbo Ademoye further accused these YouTube platforms of content theft, claiming they often bait audiences with her name and likeness only to show unrelated material.

In a strongly worded caption accompanying her video, she vowed to protect the integrity of her work.

“Let the battle begin. I will not let anyone profit off my blood, sweat, and sleepless nights,” she added.
