Ghanaian actress Vicky Zugah has taken to social media to warn her followers against making risky decisions in response to trolls on social media.

In a video shared on Instagram on April 1, 2025, the actress cited a disturbing scenario where she saw a young woman buying six different anti-ageing supplements just because a social media troll called her “abrewa” (old lady).

“Her reason was that someone had commented ‘Abrewa’ (Old Lady) under a picture of hers she posted on social media. And this is actually a young, beautiful-looking lady. She didn’t look old to me in any way, and even if she did, when did it become a crime to grow old?

“Me, Vicky. I’ve been called ‘abrewa’ a countless number of times. Way back in primary school, because I naturally have dry hands and feet. But will I kill myself? No, because I did not create myself like that,” she stated.

The actress warned against letting strangers’ negativity dictate health choices.

“I can’t believe people allow total strangers’ comments on social media to drive them into making irrational decisions. I can understand that not all of us can stand social media trolls, but it is definitely not worth making decisions that will affect your health in the long term,” she said.

Zugah urged people to embrace ageing gracefully, stressing that not everyone gets the privilege of growing old.

‘Enjoy the blessings and grace of growing old and stop fighting it too much or taking anti-ageing this, anti-ageing that. Everyone gets to be a child, but not everyone gets to grow old.

‘A full-blown adult wakes up and decides to be an idiot by posting nonsense under your pictures, and you want to harm your organs because of that. These idiots have no single idea of the gravity of pain they are causing people by constituting new signs on social media. Ignore them,” she concluded.
