A student of the Lagos State University (LASU) has sparked conversations online after experiencing frustration over her recent academic performance.
In a video circulating online, the student referred to the University as a scam after failing an exam she claimed to have properly prepared for.
According to her, a lecturer who had always stood against failing a student or having a student carry over a course failed her.
Taking aback by the lecturer’s action, she questioned the fairness of academic assessments and the intentions of some lecturers.
She said;
“Please, I want you guys to explain something to me: why is it that you will write an exam, write it properly, and you will still fail? Then the lecturers who failed you will now come and say, ‘I don’t want you guys to fail, I am also a parent and I don’t want my children to fail,’ but then they end up failing us. Do they find joy in that? Why are they evil?”
Further concluding her outburst with a strong warning to others, she advised them to stay away from school and perish the idea of studying anything along the medical line.
Her comment resonated with many students on social media, who took to her comment section to share their similar experiences.
Below are some of the comments;
“If you’re sure what you wrote was correct, you can appeal for your result and rewrite the exam.”
“Studying hard for a LASU exam is never enough, you just need to know what your lecturers want in the answer sheet.”
“Let me tell you my story, I got automatic carry over because of the carelessness of a lecturer who misplaced my script.”
“My HOD uploaded the wrong scores, and senate approved it before he could change it.”
