Ghanaian singer Efya has advised her followers not to waste their finances trying to keep up with individuals who flaunt wealth obtained through illegal means.

In a post on her X handle, Efya urged people to focus on their financial stability and not be swayed by the flashy lifestyles of those who steal money.

“Don’t go broke trying to compete with people that steal money,” she wrote.

Efya’s message comes at a time when social media is often filled with images of luxury and wealth, which tend to create pressure to emulate such lifestyles.

Efya, known for her powerful vocals and impactful lyrics, has consistently used her platform to inspire and guide her audience.

Her comments join those of other celebrities who have advised their fans against following what they see on social media.

Hiplife legend Reggie Rockstone, in an interview with GhanaWeb, advised the youth to resist the pressure from celebrities and social media.

He explained that many glamorous lifestyles showcased online are often fake or acquired through dubious means.
