Ghanaian music duo DopeNation has clapped back at their former label mate, Kuami Eugene, following his recent scathing remarks about them.

The twin brothers, known for their witty social media presence, took to their platforms to throw shade at the “Monica” hitmaker, challenging him ahead of their new releases and humorously advising him against stealing songs.

The feud between the former Lynx Entertainment signees escalated after DopeNation made cheeky remarks about Kuami Eugene in a social media post.

This came shortly after Richie Mensah, CEO of Lynx Entertainment, officially confirmed Kuami Eugene’s departure from the label during an interview.

In their post, DopeNation wished Kuami Eugene success in overcoming the so-called “Lynx curse,” a popular belief among fans that artists who leave the label struggle to maintain their relevance and produce hit songs.

The duo’s comments were also a direct response to Kuami Eugene’s earlier interview, where he expressed relief over their exit from Lynx Entertainment in 2020.

Kuami Eugene quickly fired back on social media, accusing DopeNation of chasing clout to promote a “gym song” and vowing to shift his attention to them after releasing quality music for his upcoming birthday.

Not one to back down, DopeNation doubled down on their response, poking fun at Kuami Eugene’s recent hairstyle transformation.

They claimed his voluminous Afro was a wig and jokingly urged him to “do us all a favour and take it off.”

In a final jab, DopeNation warned Kuami Eugene against stealing another artiste’s song to compete with them, a reference to past accusations that have occasionally marred the singer’s reputation since his rise to fame.

“As fake as that wig you dey wear. Do us all a favour and take it off. We will soon know who drops a classic this weekend. Game on! PS: Don’t go and steal someone’s song,” they wrote.

The exchange has sparked a wave of reactions from fans, with many eagerly anticipating the new releases from both acts.
