Hearts of Oak’s coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, was furious at a reporter who suggested that Hearts of Oak might have gifted the win to Asante Kotoko during their 2024/25 Ghana Premier League’s Super Clash on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

After 90 minutes, the game appeared destined for a draw until Asante Kotoko’s Albert Amoah capitalized on a mishap in the Hearts of Oak defense, scoring in the 95th minute to secure a 1-0 victory and all three points for the Porcupines.

During the post-match press conference, Ouattara vehemently dismissed the notion that his side had gifted the win to Asante Kotoko. When a reporter questioned whether he agreed with that perspective, the Ivorian coach snapped back.

“When you look at my face, do you think I am Father Christmas to give gifts to somebody? Somebody made the effort to win the match. Don’t discredit that win; he made the effort to win. It is not a gift to Kotoko. I am not Father Christmas. We just lost the match,” he told reporters.

Ouattara will now shift his focus to the next game against Berekum Chelsea on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the University of Ghana Stadium, hoping to get his team back on track.
