Ghana’s self-proclaimed “Amapiano King,” DJ Azonto, is making headlines again after throwing lyrical shots at top stars Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and media personality Serwaa Amihere in his latest track Attassa (Nyame Bɛyɛ).

The multiple award-winning artiste, has also issued a stern warning to fellow musicians, particularly Sarkodie, over the use of his newly coined slogan, “Attassa.”

It may be recalled that DJ Azonto cautioned in a recent interview that “Attassa” is his intellectual property, just like his other popular catchphrases, including Fa No Fom, Ala Woyo, Azonto A Confirmie and Make Dem Tell You.

“I had a dream that Sarkodie had used my term ‘Attassa’ in his song, and I want to publicly state that any unauthorized usage by King Sark will lead to a $500 billion investment into my DJ Azonto Microfinance, with two sureties attached,” he warned.

DJ Azonto added that he is prepared to take legal action against any artiste who attempts to exploit the term for attention or hype.

“I know some artists will intentionally use the term for hype, but I am ready to take any artist who steals this term to court,” he declared.

The Fa No Fom hitmaker, who recently dropped Check N See (Fully Active), emphasised the importance of protecting creative ideas and branding in Ghana’s competitive music industry.
