Ghana’s Black Galaxies continue their quest to make consecutive appearances at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Saturday December 28, 2024, as they face Nigeria in the second leg of the 2025 CHAN qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

In the first leg, Ghana was held to a goalless draw by an inspired Nigerian team that posed a constant threat.

However, head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, in a pre-match press conference, expressed his team’s eagerness to secure a spot in the tournament co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

“We created more chances in the first leg and were unlucky not to score. Saturday presents another opportunity to score goals and secure our place in the CHAN finals. We are ready for the challenge,” he said.

While remaining optimistic, the former Asante Kotoko coach acknowledged the threat posed by Nigeria and the significance of the match, urging his team to elevate their performance.

“It’s a chance to qualify for the CHAN. It won’t be easy, as clashes between Nigeria and Ghana are never easy. The Super Eagles team is strong, and we need to step up our game. We will play aggressively,” he added.

Coach Dramani will look to Ghana’s previous victory over Nigeria in the qualifiers for the 2023 CHAN tournament for inspiration.
