Kurt Okraku (blue) walks past Kofi Adams (white) at the Accra Sports Stadium

Rumours of a fallout between Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, Kurt Okraku and Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams, have gained attention on social media after a video between the two appeared on the internet.

In the viral video, Okraku appeared to have sidestepped the minister’s handshake following the Black Stars’ vital 1–0 victory over Mali on Monday, September 8, 2025.

In the buildup to the match, Kofi Adams had publicly announced a significant budget cuts for the national team, a move that angered the GFA according to multiple media reports.

Yet, any hint of discord seemed to dissipate when, in the days leading to the must-win encounter, Kofi Adams visited the Black Stars’ camp and posed with the team and management, an image that effectively quashed speculation of any strained relations.

After Ghana got closer to qualifying to the 2026 World Cup with a win over Mali, Okraku was captured shaking hands broadly with various officials and contingency members on the pitch.

However, when he passed by Adams, he appeared not to extend his hand, and that brief exchange has sparked widespread commentary on social media.

While the moment has stirred debate, it is possible that neither man even noticed the lapse in the heat of post-match celebrations.

What many have interpreted as a snub could have simply been a fleeting oversight rather than a deliberate act.
