Following the demise of Ghanaian Highlife musician Charles Kwadwo Fosu, popularly known as Daddy Lumba, videos of his recent public engagements in which he seemingly appeared to sound a farewell message, have resurfaced online.
Daddy Lumba passed on in the early hours of Saturday, July 26, 2025, after battling a short illness.
He died at the age of 60.
Interesting, shortly after his passing, two separate videos from his 60th birthday celebration have resurfaced on social media showing Daddy Lumba making some rather heart-wrenching remarks, which sounded almost like he was saying his final goodbye to fans.
During the late musician’s performance at his 60th Birthday celebration, Lumba recounted the challenges he passed through while on his sickbed.
He added that he did not believe he would be alive to witness his 60th birthday.
Lumba made the statement at a concert that happened barely nine-months ago.
“I didn’t believe I would be okay despite all the suffering I went through when I was sick. I sat in a wheelchair, but God being so good, I am now 60 years old.
“If he (God) calls me tomorrow, I would gladly go. So, let us stay with love and unity. Very soon, I, Kwadwo Fosu, will pass on, so I am saying my final goodbye to you all,” he said.
In another viral video on social media, the late Lumba, who had paid a working visit to his radio station, similarly wished workers his final goodbye.
The musician used “Makra Mo” a term from one of his much-anticipated songs, to bid his final goodbye to his workers.
“You people should keep up with the good works, and I know that God will make everything beautiful for us. I welcome you all to DL FM. Maybe this would be my final visit to the station. So, this is my final goodbye message to all of you,” Lumba noted.
