The ongoing saga involving journalist Dianna Russini and New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel has taken another bizarre twist.
Russini and Vrabel have been accused of having an extramarital affair with each other – with images linking the two together over the course of six years.
The initial story broke after images were published by Page Six of the two enjoying a close encounter at an Arizona luxury resort
In the days following that report, a story came out about how Russini helped to rescue an elderly man and his dog from a car crash near the reporter’s New Jersey home.
Now, Page Six is reporting a second eyewitness account that debunks the claim that Russini ‘jumped on top of an overturned Jeep’ to help the driver to safety.
The outlet’s initial report on April 17 claimed that there had been a crash two days prior in the town of Wyckoff, New Jersey near Russini’s house.
A conflicting account of Dianna Russini’s role in aiding a driver in a car crash has come to light
Earlier this month, Russini played the role of a helpful bystander – with an eyewitness account claiming she jumped on top of this overturned Jeep to help get the driver and his dog to safety
Now a second eyewitness has come forth claiming Russini, who has been accused of having an affair with Patriots coach Mike Vrabel, was not the one who climbed on top of the vehicle
The reports say she ‘heroically asked a bystander to hoist her onto an overturned Jeep, whereupon she had opened the door and helped the stricken driver and his helpless dog to safety.’
Local authorities confirmed to the outlet that bystanders helped with the rescue before the arrival of police.
When Page Six ran the story by sources familiar with the incident, they confirmed the account ‘including the detail that she climbed onto the vehicle.’
However, nearly two weeks later, a second tipster reached out to the outlet and told a different account of Russini’s involvement.
The second source – identified by Page Six as ‘a fellow resident of Northern New Jersey’ – claimed that while Russini did come to help with the crash, she was not the one who climbed on top of the car.
In fact, the second source claims that her husband was the one who freed the driver and her dog ‘by ripping open the canvas roof of the Jeep.’
As for Russini, the second source claims she ‘had merely held the dog’s leash after the pet had been released from the wreckage.’
The source’s husband did not speak to the outlet for their updated report. Further attempts by the New York Post to determine which account was the truth proved to be unsuccessful, according to Page Six.
Russini and Vrabel are alleged to have had this affair over the course of many years
But Vrabel has just returned from a trip to Park City to try and save his marriage to wife, Jen
Vrabel, 50, is currently seeking professional help amid claims that he had an affair with sports reporter Russini. The pair, who are both married with children, initially denied the affair allegations and insisted they were at the resort with a larger group when the snaps were taken.
However, Vrabel has since offered a groveling apology to his family and recently stepped away from the 2026 NFL Draft in order to focus on his counseling.
This included a 24-hour summit with his wife, Jen, over the weekend in Park City, Utah to address the state of their marriage – where Vrabel is reported to have given a heartfelt apology.
Both Jen and Mike Vrabel are back on the East Coast, with one insider telling the Daily Mail that their marriage is ‘hanging in the balance.’
‘Jen is p***ed, embarrassed, and horrified that this is her life right now,’ the source told the Daily Mail.
‘To live through this in the public eye, being judged by friends and family, being judged by people she has never met. It is a nightmare.’
‘But as much as the trust has been broken, the “till death do us part” is what she is trying to make work,’ the source continued.
‘And with the trust that has been broken, she is looking to see if Mike can be the man she fell in love with and if he will put in the work to actually change.’
