Ghanaian centre-back Nurudeen Abdulai has completed a move to Scottish Championship side Dunfermline Athletic from Medeama SC, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

The highly-rated 21-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Pars after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee, with the deal subject to visa approval and international clearance.

Abdulai arrives at East End Park with solid experience under his belt, having made over 75 appearances in the Ghana Premier League and seven in the CAF Champions League with Medeama.

He played a crucial role in helping the Tarkwa-based side win their first-ever league title in 2023 and also featured prominently in their historic maiden CAF Champions League campaign.

Standing at 6ft 2in, Abdulai is known for his commanding presence, aerial dominance, and ability to play out from the back.

While primarily a defender, he has also developed a reputation for scoring vital goals, especially from set-pieces.

His impressive performances have seen him earn call-ups to the Ghana national team, making the bench in World Cup qualifiers and high-profile friendlies, although he is yet to earn his debut cap.

Dunfermline fended off interest from Aberdeen, as well as clubs in England, Denmark, and Norway, to secure Abdulai’s signature.

The Ghanaian defender is expected to link up with his new teammates immediately and will be available for selection once all paperwork is completed.
