When Jubilee House declared the national tragedy during the official briefing, the minister was spotted crying.

As the nation grieves the loss of three military soldiers and five government officials in the Ashanti area, Ghanaian MP Muntaka Mubarak sent a touching tribute on social media.

The helicopter carrying the eight individuals crashed at Adansi Sikaman, in the Ashanti Region’s Adansi Akrofuom District, while they were on a national mission.

Among the dead were former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye, Sqn. Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Defense, Dr. Alhaji Murtala Muhammad, MP for Tamale Central, and Minister of Environment, Science, and Technology, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC, and Sgt. Ernest Addo Mensah.

Muntaka posted his sympathies for the crew members and offered his condolences to the families of his departed coworkers.

“These were honorable, generous, and devoted men who made significant contributions to Ghana’s progress. Everyone who knew them will be profoundly saddened by their passing, as their presence illuminated those around them.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the eight distinguished Ghanaians who lost their lives in this devastating incident.”

“To His Excellency the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, I also want to express my sincere condolences for the death of such important people whose dedication to national service was undeniable.

“This is a huge loss for our country. They will always be honored and remembered for their sacrifices, commitment, and service. May the All-Powerful God give the deceased eternal rest and console all the families who have lost a loved one.
