In light of the 2024 general elections, scheduled for Saturday, December 7, a Special Voting exercise is being held on Monday, December 2, 2024, for emergency services, security personnel, and select individuals.

Among those who participated were prominent entrepreneurs and owners of the Despite Group of Companies, Osei Kwame Despite and his brother, Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, the two businessmen were seen casting their votes at the Legon District Police Station in the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in Accra.

They were accompanied by security personnel and members of the Ghana Police Service.

Also present at the polling station were Lydia Seyram Alhassan, the current NPP Member of Parliament (MP) parliamentary candidate for the constituency, and John Dumelo the aspiring NDC MP candidate.

The video captured Kwame Despite and Ofori Sarpong as they went through the voting process, which included ID card verification, receiving their ballot papers, and having their fingers dipped in indelible ink by the polling agents.

The Special Voting exercise has so far proceeded smoothly across the country, with tons of security, emergency, and media personnel casting their votes ahead of the main elections on December 7.
