The family of a missing 33-year-old woman are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare after she vanished from a city over the weekend.

Rachael Bowman has been missing from the Hillsleigh Road area of Cowgate in Newcastle-upon-Tyne since 3.30pm yesterday.

Northumbria Police described Miss Bowman as a white 5ft 7in woman with long black hair, adding that she has a lip hoop piercing and may be wearing a leg brace.

Officers believe she may have travelled to the North Tyneside or South Shields areas – and want her, or anyone who knows where she might be, to get in touch.

Her sister Sarah Bowman has posted a series of messages on Facebook urging her to get in touch, saying in the most recent one: ‘Please Rach, we need you home.’
