Desmond Ofei, the head coach of Ghana’s Black Satellites, has called up 35 players to begin preparations for the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scheduled to take place in Côte d’Ivoire from April 26 to May 18, 2025.

The first phase of the camp will run from January 3 to January 9, 2025, with the invited players primarily coming from Ghana Premier League clubs.

Players from the Division One League will join the camp during the second phase, set to take place from January 10 to January 15, 2025.

This initial training camp is designed to build momentum and provide the technical team with an opportunity to assess additional talent to complement the squad that secured a second-place finish at the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Togo.

That performance earned Ghana a spot at the upcoming U-20 AFCON.

The Black Satellites have been in impressive form this year, clinching gold at the African Games in March after defeating Uganda 1-0 in the final.

With this strong foundation, Ofei and his team are optimistic about their chances of success at the U-20 AFCON.

This camp marks the beginning of what could be another remarkable chapter in Ghana’s U-20 football history.
