Ghanaian footballer Derek Boateng met with Ziggy Marley, the son of legendary reggae musician Bob Marley, in the United States of America (USA).

The former midfielder, who is currently scouting for San Diego FC’s youth teams, had an encounter with the musician while performing his duties for the club.

He has been involved in scouting for some time now after his retirement and also works with the Right to Dream Academy in Ghana.

The former Fulham midfielder expressed his excitement at meeting the musician, who has distinguished himself in the industry beyond his father’s achievements.

The ex-Getafe player shared insights into their encounter, emphasising the importance of learning from mistakes rather than judging people based on their flaws.

“Look who I ran into today on the scouting field – the son of the legend, Ziggy Marley. And I know you think you have to be perfect to keep the people you love around you. That’s not true.

“We learn from our mistakes, and we don’t judge people by their flaws; we just love people for who they are. But it’s up to you to trust people with the real you,” he posted on his Instagram page.
