A group of Democrat protestors were roundly mocked after performing an agonizing singalong to demonstrate against Elon Musk’s DOGE cuts to the government.

Activists at a ‘Save the Civil Service’ rally, hosted by the American Federation of Government Employees, gave an excruciating rendition of classic protest song ‘Which Side Are You On?’

The group adapted lyrics from the song, popularized by during WWII, to pointed lyrics about the Tesla billionaire and his department’s blitzkrieg through DC.

‘We’ll fight against DOGE, we’ll fight Elon Musk… we’ll fight from dawn till dusk,’ the group sang.

‘Trump’s coming for our unions, he wants us all to fail, he wants us all to bow to him, but we want him in jail.’

The protest, which took place outside Capitol Hill on Tuesday afternoon, was quickly ridiculed by viewers as footage of the out-of-tune singing went viral.

‘I’m on the side that comes with a mute button,’ one viewer said.

‘I hope they keep their day jobs,’ joked another. ‘Wait, don’t these people ever work?’

Activists at a ‘Save the Civil Service’ rally hosted by the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) were roundly mocked after performing an out-of-tune rendition of classic protest song ‘Which Side Are You On?’

The protest was organized in response to Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) taking drastic actions to reduce the size of the federal government in the first weeks of Trump’s second presidency.

Hundreds of people gathered outside Capitol Hill on Tuesday to take part in the protest, which focused on cuts being made to the civil service.

Union leaders were joined by several Democrat lawmakers, including Democratic House Leader Hakeem Jeffries and former House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, as they slammed Musk for his recent moves.

Charlene Seon, a staffer in the embattled Office of Personnel Management, told the crowd: ‘The last week has been chaos.

‘We’re just trying to keep our heads above water continue to do the work, but we know the work is important.’

Jeffries said in his remarks that Musk’s cuts to the civil service were ‘unacceptable and unconscionable’, and vowed to keep fighting ‘until each and every one of those unlawful executive orders are fully and completely reversed, buried in the ground, never to rise again.’

‘We are standing in solidarity with each and every one of you during this incredibly fragile time,’ he said.

‘Even though we’ve got these out-of-control, unelected billionaires trying to turn back the clock, we’re not going back. We’re gonna keep moving forward. We’re not going to let them unwind the progress that you and others have fought to accomplish.’

Democratic House Leader Hakeem Jeffries also spoke with attendees at the protest, where he said that Musk's cuts to the civil service were 'unacceptable and unconscionable'

The protest was organized the same day that Musk held a press conference inside the Oval Office alongside President Trump, where he spoke with his young son X on his shoulders.

Musk told reporters that DOGE has found people who are ‘probably dead’ still receiving Social Security checks, sparking fears that seniors could be the next in line for his drastic budget cuts.

Already, Musk has entirely dismantled USAID and targeted FEMA by having its four top finance officials fired for paying $59 million to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants.

Additionally, 40,000 federal employees have accepted a buyout Trump offered for them to voluntarily leave their roles in exchange for full pay through September.

Now, Musk’s latest revelations about Social Security payments have sparked fears the program, which comes under the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), could be the next to face the wrath of DOGE as it seeks to cut federal spending.

However, others are glad that an audit or examination of the Social Security Administration might crack down on fraud or mistakes and in turn yield taxpayer money back to the federal government for use elsewhere.

‘Reexamination of Social Security – we’ve got people in there that are 150 years old,’ Musk lamented during the impromptu press conference as Trump signed an executive order.

‘Now do you know anyone who’s 150?’ the billionaire asked. ‘I don’t know. They should be in the Guinness Book of World Records. They’re missing out.’

‘So, you know, that’s the case where I think they’re probably dead, is my guess, or they should be very famous – one of the two,’ he concluded.

Musk’s young son, who is often referred to as X, was alongside his father and the president for the Oval Office appearance this week.

The four-year-old’s unconventional name is X Æ A-Xii, pronounced ex-ash-ay-twelve. His mother is Canadian musician Grimes, whose real name is Claire Boucher.

She was not pleased to learn of her son’s attendance on Tuesday.
