Lydia Yaako Donkor, a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), has been named the new Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) by Christian Tetteh Yohuno, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, the Police Administration formally announced the appointment, which is effective immediately.
This action is a component of a larger reorganization plan inside the Ghana Police Service that aims to improve leadership efficacy and operational efficiency.
Before being appointed, DCOP Donkor was the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Safety and Security Head, where she significantly improved football security standards in Ghana and throughout Africa.
