A watchful driver stopped a thief in the act of attempting to steal a phone in Madina, a busy district of Accra, Ghana, and the heist ended tragically.

Since the traffic-related event, discussions concerning urban safety and criminality have been triggered.

The robber attempted to steal the driver’s phone through the car window while cars were stalled in traffic, according to witnesses.

The motorist, unfortunately for him, was vigilant and quick to respond. The robber apparently tried to flee, but the driver caught him by the arm and held on.

Passersby and other drivers were drawn to the area by the commotion and gathered around it.

Some in the crowd called for moderation to prevent needless bloodshed, while others expressed displeasure at the thief’s conduct.

Because of the heavy traffic in the neighborhood, which gives small thieves the chance to target unwary drivers, Madina residents claim that these kinds of crimes are growing increasingly frequent.

This thief’s experience serves as a warning to others who could be involved in similar acts.

Local officials have urged citizens to report suspicious activity and use caution when driving in order to prevent becoming victims of such crimes.
