In an effort to show appreciation and build camaraderie, the Member of Parliament for Ada West (Sege) Constituency, Hon. Daniel Keshie Bessey, has hosted his former colleagues and schoolmates from Tema Secondary School – TOSA ’96 to a dinner party, appreciating their steadfast support over the years.

At the Bosphorus Restaurant and Café at Labone on Friday, 3rd January, 2025, a dinner party was held to honour his colleagues who had supported his campaign in various ways, providing spiritual and financial support, and standing in for him while he contested for the seat.

With a thankful heart, Mr. Bessey was particularly grateful to his colleagues for their physical presence in the constituency before and during election day, joining him to monitor the process from one electoral area to another, which, according to him, ensured his victory.

He recounted how the team supported him during his first attempt at the primaries, and even though he lost at the time, the constituents felt the team’s presence. In his words, “I was surprised to see the team mobilize financial support for me this year, for which some sent money to me directly,” Mr. Bessey stressed. Further, he highlighted that he was indeed amazed to see some of his colleagues during his fundraising event at Sege. The team drove from their various homes to come and support him. “I’m humbled and thankful to them,” the Ada West MP stated.

Mr. Bessey averred that words may not be enough to express his gratitude to his year group, but deep down in his heart, he holds them in a very high place for the show of solidarity and belief in him.

The night saw many schoolmates, particularly Tema Secondary School Old Students Association (TOSA ’96) members, some family members, and friends come around to renew old school bonds.

Dr. Dr. Felix Kodzo Besah Sorvor, who spoke on behalf of the TOSA ’96-year group, congratulated Hon. Daniel Bessey on his feat, projecting Tema Secondary School through his success, as well as his tenacity and persistence over the period. He said this exemplified the true nature of the Temascan, which is “always the best”.

Hon. Daniel Keshie Bessey took the opportunity to thank his wife, Mrs. Genevieve Bessey, playfully referring to her as his “dear Rebecca.” To acknowledge all those present at the party, the MP moved from table to table to personally thank them for showing their support and for honouring his invitation to the get-together.

He reiterated the need for people to strive to belong to their various old student groups and platforms, and to support each other in all their activities.

Regarding his plans for the people of Sege, he indicated that he was considering enrolling them in some form of socio-economic insurance that takes care of family demands, such as funeral support and job opportunities.
