Former Accra Hearts of Oak defender, Dan Quaye has thrown his full support behind head coach Didi Dramani’s decision to rotate his goalkeepers, insisting the policy is healthy for both the club and its players.

Didi Dramani has alternated between first choice goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and deputy Solomon Agbasi in recent weeks, with both shot-stoppers delivering solid performances.

Speaking in an interview with Koforidua based Bryt FM, Quaye said he had no issues with the rotation policy, stressing that Asare cannot be expected to play every match throughout the season.

He noted that the Black Stars goalkeeper has already proven his quality and does not need to feature in every game to maintain his status.

“I don’t have a problem with the rotation at all. Benjamin Asare cannot play every match in the season. He has already proven his quality, so sitting out a game or two doesn’t change anything,” Quaye said in an interview with Koforidua based Bryt FM.

Quaye also cited past examples at Hearts of Oak, referencing how Sammy Adjei and Eben Dida successfully competed for the number one spot without issues.

“We’ve seen this before at Hearts of Oak with goalkeepers like Sammy Adjei and Eben Dida, and it worked perfectly. This rotation will not affect Hearts or the Black Stars, and Agbasi deserves his chance.”
