Ace broadcaster, Dan Kwaku Yeboah, has labelled Black Stars head coach Otto Addo as a snobbish character.

According to Dan Kwaku Yeboah, he observed this trait in the coach after an encounter in France.

Narrating the incident on Peace FM, the broadcaster explained that he had proposed the Black Stars coaching job to Otto Addo during his tenure with the Normalization Committee (NC), following a recommendation by then Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah.

He recounted texting Otto Addo, who expressed interest in the job but indicated that the NC would need to buy him out of his contract at Borussia Dortmund. However, the negotiations fell through.

“I realized he is cheeky when I had a personal encounter with him. Honourable Asiamah wanted us (NC) to appoint him as a coach, so he asked me to contact him in Germany. I’m sure I still have that chat on my phone.”

“He told me he had a running contract with Dortmund and that unless we bought him out of it. I replied that we can’t afford the cost of buying him out of his contract.”

Dan Kwaku Yeboah further narrated a recent meeting with Otto Addo in France, where he tried to remind the coach of their previous interaction but received a “cheeky” response.

“Recently, I met him in France and asked if he remembered me. I said, ‘Honourable Minister asked me to contact you about the Black Stars job, and you said you were interested.’ Do you know what he told me? ‘Do you know how many people have contacted me about the Black Stars job in the past?’”

“I didn’t say anything and walked away. He is very snobbish,” Yeboah insisted.

The broadcaster shared this story to support a claim made by controversial sports commentator Patrick Osei Agyemang, popularly known as Songo, who had also described Otto Addo as cheeky.

Both broadcasters made their assertions while discussing the struggles of the Black Stars following the 2025 AFCON qualifiers setback.
