Executive Director of Peace Watch Ghana, Diana Nyonkopa Daniels, says the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has proven beyond reasonable doubt that he is the best for the job.

She commended him for his dedication, tact, and execution of the 2024 general elections security.

He noted the IGP has proven his critics’ wrong, and all those who insult him do not appreciate men of integrity.

“The IGP has demonstrated that he is the ambassador for the job. Some people hated him, but he has proven them wrong. He is the Paul Kagame of Ghana. He is a man of integrity and honour, and I pray God will grant him long life and wisdom to continue with his good works. There were those who hated him for his firmness. As humans, we will always have people who will hate you, but in all you have to prove to them that you are competent,” she said.

She stated that the IGP is not a power-hungry individual and is willing to step down if the incoming Mahama administration requests it.

Diana Nyonkopa Daniels stated that the Ghana Police Service and all the other agencies that contributed to the successful elections must also be commended.

She insisted that the IGP is the man to be kept at the helm of affairs for the Police Service, but even in the situation where he is asked to step aside, the man is prepared to go.

“He will be living behind a legacy of selfless leadership and dedication to his duties. He has brought honour to the police service. The negative tag that surrounded the police has reduced. He deserves to be celebrated that we have an IGP whose tenure saw transformation in the service. The academics know he is a man of integrity; the politicians are also aware he is not a man you can manipulate,” Diana Nyonkopa Daniels added.
