Gospel musician Selina Boateng has disclosed that late highlife legend Daddy Lumba once sought to sign her to his label after they collaborated on the 2004 hit “Eye N’adom.”

However, according to Boateng, the deal did not pull through due to her existing contract with another label.

In a recent interview with Accra-based Kessben FM, Selina Boateng recounted how Lumba, impressed by her vocals during the recording, spontaneously offered to produce her career.

“After we recorded the song, he told me he loved it and wanted to start producing me. But I was already signed, so I couldn’t accept,” she recalled.

She praised Lumba’s generosity, recalling how he rewarded exceptional studio performances with cash gifts.

He was very good to people. Even during the recording process, if you sing exceptionally well, and he is touched by the song. He would just take out some money and give to you.
