Following recent allegations by former co-host of Rants, Bants, and Confessions podcast, Gisela Amponsah, regarding being set up for cyberbullying and exploitation, Glitch Africa has taken to social media to deny the accusations.
One would recall that Gisela Amponsah, during a recent appearance on ‘The Creative Inc YouTube’ channel with her best friend Ama Burland, alleged that producers at Glitch Africa intentionally paid bloggers to circulate negative commentary about them.
According to Gisela, the alleged strategy was aimed at stirring controversy and driving attention to the podcast.
However, in a new development, Glitch Africa has publicly responded to the claims, describing them as entirely false and baseless.
In a press statement issued on May 30, 2025, Glitch Africa stated that all hosts, both past and present, were given access to podcast trailers before they were released to the public, suggesting a transparent and collaborative process.
“There is absolutely no iota of truth in that video. Not a single host was denied the opportunity to review content before episodes went public. All hosts, past and present, had access to trailers and cuts via a designated internal group for feedback.
“Multiple episodes were pulled entirely or edited based on the host’s emotional well-being. There is no unreleased episode where a host felt sad and disrespected,” the statement reads.
On the allegations that producers of the show pay bloggers to bully hosts on social media, Glitch Africa also debunked such claims.
“No blog has ever published content before the hosts saw it. Timeless can be checked. The said toxic blogger who had previously targeted one host, was due to a longstanding personal issue unrelated to Glitch Africa. When we noticed it, we asked the blogger to stop and they did multiple times,” it said.
