Unbeaten WBA #1 Mirco Cuello (16-0, 13 KOs) destroyed previously unbeaten WBA #15 Sergio Rios (19-1, 7 KOs) in less than two rounds to claim the vacant WBA interim featherweight belt on Friday night at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi, Libya. Cuello dropped Rios in round one and put him down twice in round two, the second time for the count.

In a fight upgraded from a light heavyweight eliminator to a WBA interim title fight, WBA #3 rated Albert Ramirez (22-0, 19 KOs) knocked out WBA #9 Jerome “The Panther” Pampellone (19-3, 12 KOs) in the seventh round. Ramirez dropped Pampellone at the end of round six and finished him with two more knockdowns in round seven.

A bout between WBA #5 cruiserweight Mike Perez (31-3-1, 22 KOs) and Christian Fabian Luis (12-4, 8 KOs) ended in a no-decision in the fourth round. Perez dropped Luis with seconds left in the round and the referee ruled that Perez threw “an illegal, yet unintentional blow” rendering Luis unable to continue.

Veteran lightweight Francisco Fonseca (37-4-2, 29 KOs) surprised previously unbeaten two-time Olympic silver medalist Sofiane Oumiha (6-1, 3 KOs), taking a ten round unanimous decision. A third round knockdown by Fonseca made the difference in a 95-94, 95-94, 97-92 verdict.

WBA #9 super featherweight Josue Aguero (14-0, 7 shut out Diego Aleman (20-3-1, 14 KOs) over ten rounds. Scores were 100-90 3x.
