Legendary footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired a 25% stake in Spanish side UD Almería to become a co-owner.

The deal was spearheaded by the Portuguese star’s brand, CR7 Sports Investments Company, which will play a key role in the affairs of the club.

It was reported that the majority owner of the club is Mohamed Al Khereiji, a businessman who owns Saudi Media Corporation, and he will be working alongside Ronaldo.

Speaking on the deal, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner noted that it has long been his dream to venture into football-related activities beyond his role on the pitch.

Ronaldo explained that the club’s potential for growth attracted his interest and expressed his desire to collaborate with other shareholders for future success.

“It has been a long-time ambition of mine to contribute to football beyond the pitch. UD Almería is a Spanish club with strong foundations and clear potential for growth. I look forward to working alongside the leadership team to support the club’s next phase of development,” Ronaldo said.

Almería are currently competing in Spain’s Segunda División, fighting for promotion to La Liga in the 2026/2027 season.

The club currently sits in third place on the league table with 48 points, trailing Castellón in second place with 49 points, and leaders Racing Santander, who have 50 points.
