    Boxer Terence “Bud” Crawford has been crowned Super Middleweight champion after defeating Saul “Canelo” Álvarez in Las Vegas on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

    In front of a sold-out crowd at the at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Terence “Bud” Crawford cemented his name in the annals of the sport’s immortality on Saturday night, outboxing and dethroning Saul “Canelo” Álvarez.

    Crawford showcased his trademark speed even after going up in weight, and with precision, and defensive mastery went on to outbox Alvarez over 12 electric rounds.

    The judges scored the bout unanimously in Crawford’s favor: 115-113, 115-113, 116-112.

    “This is what greatness looks like. Canelo is a legend, but tonight was my night. I came to make history,” Terence Crawford said in the post-fight interview.

    Former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton is dead

    Álvarez was disappointed in his performance on the night but acknowledged Crawford’s performance noting “He was the better man tonight. Very smart, very quick. No excuses.”

    The 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska, entered the bout as a +250 underdog but his solid performance and determination ensured that he emerged the winner.
