Coventry City manager Frank Lampard is concerned about Brandon Thomas-Asante’s injury sustained during their Championship match against Middlesbrough.

The Black Stars attacker was forced off with an injury before the half-hour mark, as his outfit cruised to a 4-2 away victory at the Riverside Stadium on Tuesday night.

Despite losing their leading scorer early in the match, Coventry City managed to triumph over Middlesbrough at their own backyard.

However, Frank Lampard has expressed serious concerns about the Ghanaian international’s injury, while hoping for a swift recovery for the enterprising attacker.

“It’s a hamstring. He said he didn’t feel like it was a major tear, but it tightened up on him. So, it was a good thing he came off. Obviously, it’s a concern for us, and we’ll have to see how he is,” he said.

Thomas-Asante is expected to undergo scans to determine the extent of the injury sustained in their game against Middlesbrough.

The Ghana international has been the main man for Lampard’s side, who are seeking promotion to the Premier League next season. His outstanding performance for Coventry City earned him the Championship Player of the Month award for October.

He scored six goals, including two braces, in October as Coventry City headed into the international break top of the Championship table.

The 26-year-old forward has been in blistering form for Coventry City this campaign, racking up ten goals and providing three assists in 17 appearances in the English Championship.
