A Magistrate Court in Ilesa, Osun State, Nigeria, has decided against Rhoda Adu, ordering her to pay N150,000 (equal to GHS 1,500) to her partner, Olapitan Sola, following a case of betrayal and emotional distress. The problem began when Sola transferred N3,000 (GHS 30) to Adu as transportation costs, expecting her to see him. However, Adu did not show up and turned off her phone, leaving Sola feeling tricked.

During the court, Sola offered evidence to back up his assertions, including mobile money transfer records and WhatsApp exchanges. The court convicted Adu of breaking their agreement and emotionally manipulating Sola. As a result, Adu was ordered to restore the N3,000, pay a penalty of N100,000 for breaching the agreement, and an extra N50,000 in damages for emotional anguish.
