The bail application for Priscilla Duah Birago, a 29-year-old National Service Person, and Charity Dede Tetteh, a 29-year-old beautician, has been adjourned to Thursday, September 4, 2025, by the Adentan Circuit Court.

The two women were arrested on August 6, 2025, for allegedly making offensive and abusive statements against President John Dramani Mahama during a TikTok live stream.

The court, presided over by Angela Attachie, did not take their pleas during their initial appearance on August 20, 2025, and remanded them into police custody pending further investigations.

Chief Inspector Maxwell Lanyo, leading the prosecution, requested the remand, citing the need for ongoing investigations into the matter.

According to the prosecution, the accused persons allegedly made remarks such as:

“We would have been happier if President John Dramani Mahama had been involved in the helicopter crash and dwarfs had eaten him up… a lot of people are dying under his tenure of office.”

These comments were deemed likely to provoke a breach of the peace, leading to their arrest by law enforcement officers.

A forensic capture of the livestream was obtained as evidence, with Birago allegedly disseminating the remarks on her TikTok account under the name “Abena Birago.”

When they appeared in court again on September 2, 2025, the judge ordered that they remain in custody as the bail hearing was adjourned to Thursday September 4, 2025.
