CAF will give free 2025 AFCON tickets to the couple CAF will give free 2025 AFCON tickets to the couple

A simple tweet about travel costs turned into a dream come true for Nigerian football fan Oluwatosin Nathan and his wife, as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) rewarded the couple with free tickets to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Nathan, a well-traveled professional currently working at Google and an alumnus of the University of Lagos and France’s EDHEC Business School, had shared his surprise over the cost of attending AFCON compared to a trip to Nigeria.

In his viral post on X, he wrote:

“I just did the math. What it will cost my wife and I to fly to Morocco, stay 8 days, watch three AFCON games and rent a car for the period. Is cheaper than one person’s flight to Nigeria in December.”

The post quickly gained traction on social media, catching the attention of CAF.

The continental football body then responded in a tweet of its own:

Hearts of Oak dumped out of FA Cup by Division Two side True Life

“We hear you, and you can redo the math now. Your match tickets for you and your wife are on us. Looking forward to seeing you at #TotalEnergiesAFCON2025 in Morocco.”

Thanks to CAF’s generosity, Nathan and his wife will now experience multiple AFCON matches at no cost, turning a simple observation about travel expenses into an unforgettable football adventure.

The couple, who are avid supporters of the Super Eagles, are now set to enjoy Africa’s biggest football tournament live, making the journey even more memorable.

We hear you, and you can redo the math now 😆😉
