Two children have been found inside a home near the body of a suspected murdered woman as police arrested a man known to her early on Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to the home on Christie Avenue in Cobram on the Victoria-NSW border about 5am following reports a 32-year-old woman had been found dead there.
Police arrested a 45-year-old man at the scene, with detectives expected to interview him later on Tuesday.

A police spokesperson said the man was known to the woman, but would provide no further details.
A neighbour of the woman told Daily Mail the suspected victim was the mother of the two children, believed to be aged two and four.
The neighbour said she would often see the woman’s children playing on the road.
‘I had to tell her to get them off the road a few times. I don’t think she was looking after them real well.’
The neighbour claimed the woman had been living in a unit on the street for at least a year.
The two young children found inside the home were not physically injured during the incident.
Another neighbour told Daily Mail the woman’s husband had moved back in with her a few months ago.

That alleged murder happened at the BP service station on the corner of Princes Highway and Potter Street about 4.50am.
Paramedics attended but the man died at the scene.
Police said the 39-year-old victim may have been stabbed ‘at a nearby residence on Potter Street, before the man fled the address on foot’, the Herald Sun reported.
By late morning, forensics were seen cordoning off and entering multiple properties on the street.
